Free Game

“Let’s make more institutions that represent these moments that we’ve all had—in culture, music, fashion—that are our story.” –Virgil Abloh

With all the challenges that so many founders, creators, and entrepreneurs of diverse ethnicities have long faced (various barriers to contribution); at Mister Earl Grey, we’re always looking for ways to actively move the needle. We recognize that at the heart of this problem is simply a lack of access (and also opportunity) that in many cases is stemming from cognitive bias. This has resulted in unrealized innovation and aborted creativity of tremendous talents who’ve been historically overlooked and under leveraged (with even our economy itself suffering as recent notable study found that racism has caused an estimated loss of trillions of dollars). Ultimately, these things have robbed us all of the many benefits we stand to gain from the contribution of those who have simply not been given access to “the game.”

Mister Earl Grey exists help bridge the gap. We not only provide branding services for founders, creators, and entrepreneurs all ethnicities without prejudice; but also take our part in building and fueling a more inclusive ecosystem. In the tragic loss of Virgil Abloh this past year, we’re reminded of his legacy and are beyond grateful for the legendary and inspiring body of work that succeeds him. But of all the gems that he has created is the resource website “FREE GAME.”

“FREE GAME”

It’s as Virgil says, “an introduction and an attempt to provide a mass form of mentorship to give information and access to black POC and to all those that are interested - Giving all the ability to consider a step-by-step guide to building their brand based on my past experience.” It’s a resource center for brands in their earliest phases and was born as he himself was working to summarize answers to all his most frequently asked questions post notoriety and accolades.
