Although it's typically a depreciating investment, some things in your wardrobe are worth investing in–one would be shoes. However, I have heard of shoes being sold later for more than their original purchase (so there is that). A pair of shoes can make or break an outfit (and make your feet happy or sad each wear). A good pair of well made leather shoes also age well–like these Horsebit Leather Loafers from Gucci. (outfit details below)

I've had these loafers for a few years now and they have looked better over many wears (with occasional shoe shines). Really, instead of buying those five to six pairs of cheap shoes over time, try investing in one great pair that is well made–and timeless. Personally, I'd rather have one quality pair of classic shoes than five pairs of cheap shoes. There are also several places to get a solid pair of shoes like these at a steal of a deal–one place is GILT.com. I also love the selection and service at Nordstrom– they have a pretty sweet yearly anniversary sale. Aside from shoes, I've also mixed pattens and textures here–from the details of the texture on the tie clip, to the large gingham oxford... also slightly wrinkled. (outfit details with links below)
