ALBUM ARTWORK
Art direction, photography, and album artwork design for Mike Hicks’ single featuring PJ Morton, Come Go With Me. The visual concept is inspired by the 1968 Memphis Sanitation Strike—a pivotal moment in the fight for dignity and workers’ rights. In response to unsafe working conditions and the tragic deaths of two Black sanitation workers, thousands took to the streets carrying signs that read, “I AM A MAN.” It is a profound tragedy when people must protest simply to assert their personhood. This photoshoot serves as an artistic homage to the workers’ bravery, resilience, and refusal to accept “business as usual” in the face of injustice and the devaluation of human life. The artwork also aims to honor the spirit of the single itself, which is as joyful and hopeful as it is bold and courageous—mirroring the balance of pain and perseverance that defined that historic movement.

ADVERTISING MATERIAL
Art direction and design for the Mike Hicks live event draw inspiration from vintage 1970s concert posters, reminiscent of the bold, expressive visuals used by artists like Stevie Wonder. This direction not only echoes the era’s soulful, high-energy aesthetic but also mirrors the artist’s own sonic influences.
The use of Art Deco–inspired framing adds another intentional layer to the visual language. Characterized by geometric symmetry, streamlined ornamentation, and a sense of refined glamour, Art Deco brings a timeless sophistication to the design. These elements also resonate with the brand tones of the hosting venue, creating a cohesive connection between the artwork, the performer, and the space.
ALBUM ARTWORK
Art direction, photography, and album artwork design for Mike Hicks’ EP I Am Who We Are. The visual direction is rooted in pure nostalgia—a walk down memory lane that celebrates a legacy of culture, music, art, family, and community. The photoshoot embraces the feeling of flipping through old family albums, echoing the intimate, personal nature of the songs themselves. Because each track is dedicated to a family member, it felt only fitting to incorporate Mike’s actual family photos into the artwork, allowing the visuals to hold the same emotional weight as the music. Each single features Mike holding a photograph of the person the song honors, complete with a special personal touch: the song title handwritten by his father on each image.
